Rathmines College is very well serviced by public transport. The college is 20 minutes walking distance from the city centre.

LUAS: Accessing the college by public transport is made easy with the Luas (Green Line), the nearest stop is Ranelagh.

FACILITIES

The college provides students with a library, blended learning and Moodle, computer rooms, a radio studio, student supports through Guidance Counsellors, extra-curricular activities including a football team, swimming, student council and student events.

Rathmines College also offer an Erasmus Programme and Employer Engagement opportunities.

Join us at one of our Open Days and get the opportunity to chat directly with course directors and teachers about the QQI Level 4, 5 & 6 Further Education courses on offer in the college. Rathmines College also offers Professional Accountancy courses, accredited by ACCA and ATI, and a one-year Repeat Leaving Cert programme. The college offers excellent progression routes from QQI Level 4 to 5 and to 6 and Professional Accountancy.

With Indeed reporting a significant increase in "Green Job" postings (up 93% since 2019), the demand for candidates for sustainable jobs is very strong. In order to help fill the gap between the supply and demain in the sustainable jobs sector, Rathmines College are launching a new QQI Level 5 course in September 2024: Sustainability and Business. This unique Course in Sustainability and Business blends traditional business studies with a robust focus on sustainability. Raising €566 for Oxfam Ireland, the thrift shop run by our Level 5 Marketing students was a huge success. By selling pre-loved items, this initiative not only raised money for a a great cause but helped students learn about the importance of sustainability. All promotional activities were run by our innovative students including social media marketing, personal selling, sales promotion PR and poster design. A branding style guide was created for the shop and it was a real team effort with both staff and students donating stock through our collection stations in the college.

A Big Thank you to Jill and Sarah from Oxfam Rathmines who welcomed our students into their busy shop and store room for training. We benefited from their experience regarding pricing, display and stock sorting and we are all prepped and ready to go for our the launch of our Pop Up Thrift Shop on March 5th. All proceeds going to Oxfam Ireland.

The first thrift shop to run in the college was organised in collaboration with Oxfam Ireland, a leading charitable organisation that is committed to tackling inequality and ending poverty, this Pop-Up event was run by the marketing students and was open for business Tuesday March 5th. Running for one week only, the shop sold sustainable second-hand clothes and accessories, raising over €500 for Oxfam Ireland.
